Bankruptcy Offers No End to Lehman's Troubles
Count 'em - three Federal criminal probes (Brooklyn, Manhattan and Newark) and 12 subpoenas for their trouble. Lehman is of course also one of the twenty-some-odd firms the FBI is investigating in their look at mortgage lending and securitization. More via Bloomberg.

Credit Suisse Brokers Charged in Sub Prime Mortgage Fraud
Charges of conspiracy, wire and securities fraud for Julian Tzolov and Eric Butler, two former brokers at Credit Suisse Securities. This according to a recently unsealed federal indictment.

The two brokers have also been named in a civil suit from the SEC.

Bear Sterns Faces Conflict of Interest Charges from Massachusetts Regulator
The already reeling-from-writedowns Bear Stearns is facing charges that it violated the Massachusetts Uniform Securities Act. As you might expect, given the current business climate, this all finds its way back to hedge funds, colateralized debt obligations and the Cayman Islands.
