CHAMPIONING INTELLIGENCE.GOV

I proposed the redevelopment of, and led all inter-agency coordination, content, and design efforts for Intelligence.gov, a signature transparency effort for the IC, devoted to exceptional digital storytelling. Intelligence.gov has since earned multiple media excellence awards for both design and video production. It was called “the best thing we’ve ever done” by former Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, Sue Gordon. Listen to an audio interview with me about the debut of Intelligence.gov.

CREATING IC ON THE RECORD

I conceived and created “IC on the Record” in August 2013, at the direction of President Obama, using the then highly novel Tumblr platform to provide a rapid response vehicle for the IC in the wake of the Edward Snowden’s unauthorized disclosures of classified information. President Obama announced the launch of IC on the Record in an August 9, 2013, press conference.

BUILDING BIN LADEN’S BOOKSHELF

I crafted the communication strategy for the first public release of documents retrieved during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s Pakistan compound. Over 48 hours, the release generated nearly double DNI’s website traffic for the entire previous calendar year. My analytic report on the launch was briefed directly to DNI Clapper who then shared it personally with President Obama as a part of his daily intelligence brief.

The Evolution of Espionage in America

REVEALING THE EVOLUTION OF ESPIONAGE IN AMERICA

From its conception, I guided the design and development of the “The Evolution of Espionage in America” digital exhibit, which adapts the Intelligence Coounity’s “Wall of Spies” museum into a world-class online resource, using the lens of history to establish understanding and trust in the IC’s counter-intelligence mission.

DEVELOPING DECLASSIFICATION DIPLOMACY:

Working with the White House National Security Council, I orchestrated the public presentation for the Argentina Declassification Project, the largest-ever govt-to-govt declassification in U.S. history, which was credited as ushering in the age of “declassification diplomacy.”

THE TET OFFENSIVE AT 50

On behalf of the Director of national Intelligence I conceived and led the development for the digital presentation of newly released government records relating to the Vietnam War’s Tet Offensive, combining original documents with deep historical context in a rich, multimedia presentation.
